You show me
My carcass,

I come back
To my flesh.

(Priyal Kāliyug)

I buried the bird
In a rodents home.

So innocently,

I placed
Death in life.

migration, 2018
artist residency, Art Ichol, India

Migration was the topic of the artist residency at the Icho Visual Arts Center, which we discussed
with anthropologis and artist Katharina Poggendorf-Kakar. The classical structure of the picture
frame became the material point of departure for my work within the two weeks of the residency.
Metaphorically speaking, my ceramic objects materialize dynamic tensions of cultural imprints,
oscillating betwee rigidity and shelter, isolation and exchange. Local artist Priyal Kāliyug
responded to my objects with two poems.
